Local business owners met with Milford police this week to discuss ways they can work together to combat crime in the area.
Two recent violent robberies have put Milford residents on guard. In the first incident, the victim was smashed over the head with a liquor bottle by two men who stole his money and ran. Less than two weeks later, a man and woman were robbed at gunpoint late at night.
Police say they'll put more officers on patrol downtown at night. The Downtown Milford Business Association has also voiced interest in establishing a neighborhood watch.
Authorities say they'll do their best to preserve the small-town sense of security in Milford.
