A breast cancer survivor from Darien is using her story to inspire others battling the disease, and she's doing it through music.
Jenifer Menedis was diagnosed when she was 32. She's now a four-year survivor and says she hopes to inspire other women through a song she wrote and now performs.
Menedis sang "You Are Not Alone" at the fifth annual Girlfriends Luncheon benefiting Stamford Hospital's Mobile Mammography Program Friday. More than 400 women attended, including Governor Jodi Rell, who is also a breast cancer survivor.
Mededis' song is now on iTunes, with a portion of the proceeds going to breast cancer research.
