Advocates for agencies that focus on mental health and disabilities are hoping state lawmakers think twice about cutting funds in light of the Newtown mass school shooting.

State lawmakers are expected to begin discussing budget cuts tomorrow. Lawmakers say the potential cuts would only affect private, nonprofit organizations.

Marty Schwartz, CEO of the Trumbull's Kennedy Center, says they haven't seen an increase in funding in at least a decade. The center provides services for people with disabilities.

Schwartz said he is worried about the future if the proposed $30 million in cuts to private agencies is approved.
