Volunteers from Stamford are driving nearly $100,000 worth of supplies to one of the poorest regions in the nation.
Business woman Amy Guerrieri is one of the volunteers driving the truck filled with school supplies, personal hygiene items, kid?s clothes and money to Martin Country, Ky.
Guerrieri says that the people in the region are about three times below the poverty level.
?We need to take care of our town,? Guerrieri says. ?These people are in our backyard. It?s [only] 10 hours [away] by car.?
