An annual event aimed to provide veterans with all services available to them was held Friday at the Connecticut Department of Veteran Affairs in Rocky Hill.
For many veterans, the Stand Down event makes it a one-stop shop for answers to any questions they may have and easier access to a variety of services. Some state leaders made themselves available to assist veterans.
"There's a sense of pride, joy, but at the same time, people here have issues and challenges, and this day helps them overcome them," said Sen. Richard Blumenthal.
"We will always fight for military people and their families to protect them," said Attorney General William Tong.
