A barber at an east side barber shop says he shot and injured one would-be robber as a second escaped Friday night.
Police say one of the suspects is hospitalized. They are working to identify the second suspect. The barber, who spoke on a condition of anonymity for fear of retribution, says the robbers entered the shop on the corner of East Main and Nicholas streets with handguns, when he pulled his own gun out.
"I want my customers to feel safe. I do what I have to do to make sure my customers feel safe," says the barber.
Police identified the suspect at Bridgeport Hospital as Lawrence Moore of Bridgeport. He is listed in critical but stable condition.
