Darien kept its Little League World Series hopes alive with a 6-2 victory over Rhode Island in the Little League Metro Region Tournament.
The win came one day after Darien suffered an 8-2 loss to New Jersey in Bristol.
Darien grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Jack Houlihan drew a bases-loaded walk. Charlie MacLane followed with an RBI double, and walks to Johnny Huntington and Logan Masi with the bases loaded stretched the lead to 6-1.
The win advances Darien to another elimination game against Port Washington, New York, on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
A victory would keep Darien's Little League World Series dream alive.
