An Easton nonprofit that helps veterans is struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.
Ted and Laurie Hollander run Help Our Military Heroes. Since the outbreak, many of their fundraisers have been canceled.
The nonprofit has provided 140 vans to disabled veterans for more than a decade.
"They just write and they tell you the differences it's made, whether they're going to work, taking their kids to school. You know just not being dependent because they're the warriors. Whether they're men or women, they're warriors and you know to be in a wheelchair and to feel like you can't be independent, kind of crushing," said Laurie Hollander.
The Hollanders say people can buy grocery bags at Stop & Shop stores in Fairfield and Bridgeport that will donate to their organization.
