Fairfield first selectman race will have a recount

Democrat Bill Gerber received 42 more votes than incumbent Republican First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick in the town's unofficial results, which were completed Wednesday.

There will be a recount in Fairfield's first selectman race Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Bigelow Center. 

Democrat Bill Gerber received 42 more votes than incumbent Republican First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick in the town's unofficial results, which were completed Wednesday.  

Gerber received 8,966 votes and Kupchick earned 8,924.
