Javelin thrower Craig Kinsley, of Fairfield, has made his Olympics dreams a reality.
Kinsley took up the javelin seven years ago when he was in high school. He spent two years on the track and field team, winning back-to-back state titles. Kinsley then went on to attend Brown University in Rhode Island and won an NCAA championship in 2010.
Kinsley has dedicated the past year of his life to making the USA Olympics team. He made it onto Team USA in June.
The qualifying round for the javelin is Wednesday, and if Kinsley makes it through, he'll throw in Saturday's finals.
