An East Hartford teen accused of stealing packages off a porch in Fairfield and breaking into cars while armed with a gun, has been arrested, police say.
Malik Walker, 19, of East Hartford, was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary among dozens of other charges.
Walker was already in jail for unrelated crimes when Fairfield Detectives issued a Superior Court Arrest Warrant on May 18 following a series of car break-ins in the Lake Hills area of town in 2020.
Fairfield detectives say they collected DNA evidence and latent fingerprint evidence from the targeted Lake Hills vehicles to track down Walker.
Walker was also identified on video surveillance at a Wallingford gas station using a stolen credit card just hours after the cards were reported stolen from a car on Papurah Road in Fairfield.
In September of 2020, Walker was arrested by the Hartford Police Department after investigators conducted a search warrant of his home and discovered two handguns.
Walker was seen in a Ring doorbell security video holding a silver-colored handgun while taking packages outside a Fairfield home in 2020.
He is currently in custody of the Department of Corrections.
