The mother of 29-year-old Dominique Jones, of Bridgeport, was at Bridgeport Superior Court as a second suspect in the fatal shooting of her son went before a judge Thursday.
"I was filled with anger when I saw him -- but I will never give way to hate," Samantha Jones told News 12.
"Let the criminal justice system do its job. It's not for me to get wild and crazy, because then I'd be like him," she said.

Joseph DeJesus, 38, was arrested in connection with the same shooting weeks after it happened.
"What I want people to know is that my other son, Craig Langston, was also shot that night and he still has a bullet in his spine. For some reason everyone keeps forgetting about Dom's brother - but he's just as much of a victim in this case as Dominique is," she said.
Joyner's bond was set at $1.7 million.
