Recurring issues with an elevator in a Stamford apartment building are leaving some residents stuck in their homes this Thanksgiving.
Residents at the Eleanor Roosevelt House say their elevator has been out for about a week and a half. They say they also encounter the same problem two or three times a year.
The Knapp Street building is home to some residents who are disabled and unable to climb stairs.
Some residents said the issue would keep them home on Thanksgiving Day, since they cannot leave the building without use of the elevator.
Management tells News 12 that they are working on the issue, which includes ordering a new control panel, but it could be weeks before the 35-year-old elevator is functional.
