A fiery multicar collision killed a driver and injured another Friday night in the Flatlands section of Brooklyn, the NYPD says.
It happened outside 3405 Kings Highway. According to the NYPD, an unidentified driver of a blue Ford was travelling the wrong way on Avenue M before slamming into 47-year-old woman driving a white Toyota heading westbound on Kings Highway.
The NYPD said the driver of the blue Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the white Toyota was treated for minor injuries.
There have been no arrests.
Longtime residents like Frank Ritacco called crashes along Kings Highway a way to common occurrence.
"It's always been bad here for many years," says Ritacco. "All the roads around this circle have been redone to avoid these accidents but there's never going to be a 100% way to avoid them."
