'Feels good to help.' Fairfield company collects old Christmas trees to benefit Operation Hope

"We run the food pantry, we run the community kitchen, and affordable housing," says Carla Miklos, executive director of Operation Hope. "It seems like we're taking good care of things, but we can't do it without the help of our community."

People who will remove Christmas trees from their living rooms can also help those in need this new year.
Paul Ruscito, owner of Ruscito Resolutions, is hauling trees away for $20, with $5 benefitting Operation Hope.
"It just feels good to help," Ruscito says. "I love giving back to the community, and hopefully my daughters will do the same when they get older."
It's the fourth year Ruscito and his wife are collecting trees, and they've donated thousands of dollars to Operation Hope so far.

Ruscito is collecting trees around Fairfield County until Jan. 16. He's also asking for non-perishable food items, diapers and other supplies.
