Stamford police officers are standing by at Norwalk Hospital, awaiting good news on a fellow officer hurt chasing a suspect this morning. Officer Troy Strauser, 38, remains in critical condition after falling off a 20-foot embankment along I-95. Police say he underwent three surgeries today, and that he landed face-first on the guardrail and pavement below. "He was just concerned about his family and his injuries," says Stamford Police Union Chief Sgt. Joe Kennedy. "His main concern was his wife and how to deal with the family." Strauser, a member of the Stamford Police Department for six years, is married with three children.
