A fire ripped through a condominium in Norwalk Sunday morning.
Officials say they responded to the fire on Foxboro Drive around 7 a.m. They say the fire was under control within a half-hour but they had to cut holes in the roof to release smoke from the building.
"It does two things," says Lt. Fortunato Capomolla. "It helps us put the fire out and any occupants still inside have a better chance of survival."
Officials say the inside of the condo sustained heavy damage inside.
Officials also say the fire also spread to a neighboring townhouse.
News 12 is told two people were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
