Members of the Westport Fire Department say they are using technology to keep close tabs on their friend and colleague who is deployed and fighting a massive wildfire in California.
Assistant Chief Mike Kronick was deployed about two weeks ago with a team of 20 firefighters from Connecticut.
The department is tracking the crew through a website, which is updated almost daily with photos and videos.
Firefighters at the department say the fire is still growing, but they are slowly making progress.
