Former Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy named to lead University of Maine System.
Malloy was introduced at the University of Maine Thursday and will lead the university beginning July 1.
Malloy says his record as former governor regarding education will help him in his new role.
"We prioritized public higher education establishing as previously been said the region system bringing 17 community colleges and state universities together to improve services and to allow for savings we secured more funding for out flagship university of Connecticut," Malloy says.
The University of Maine System has seven universities with over 34,000 students.
