Friends and family members are relieved to hear that a former Redding man who went missing in California over the weekend is alive.
Patrick Frost and his friends disappeared during a ski trip Saturday. Friends say Frost spent two days sleeping in snow caves, melting snow for water and rationing PowerBars.
Friends say nearly 100 people were searching for the group for two days. Frost and his friends were eventually spotted by a helicopter rescue crew Monday.
Chris Carlson and Andrew Hurlburt have known Frost since grade school.
?I knew he goes skiing kind of out of bounds a lot with his friends, but not to the point where he?s disappeared,? Hurlburt says.
?I started thinking how helpless I felt because I know if I were out there, Pat would be one of the first people to get up and come look for me,? Carlson says.
Family members say Frost and his friends only suffered a little frostbite.
