Girlfriend of accused Las Vegas shooter back in U.S.; body camera video released

More than a dozen investigators are in Las Vegas this morning trying to figure out what caused accused shooter Stephen Paddock to open fire on a crowd of 22,000 people, killing 59 and injuring more than 500.
News 12 Connecticut has learned Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, is back in the U.S. after officials say she was in the Philippines at the time of the attack.
Police have said from the start she has been a person of interest in the investigation.
Danley flew in to Los Angeles on a flight from Manila Tuesday night. She was met by FBI agents.
According to an immigration spokeswoman, Danley arrived in the Philippines on Sept. 25 on a flight from Hong Kong, about a week before the attack.
Danley's sisters, who live in Australia, say they were surprised to learn she had gone to the Philippines.
They believe Paddock sent her away so she wouldn't interfere with his plans to go on a shooting rampage.
Meanwhile, President Trump will visit Las Vegas today.
The president called the shooter "demented" and "sick."
According to a statement from the White House, while in Las Vegas, the president will grieve with victims and thank first responders.
In a tweet, Trump said it's a "miracle how fast" police "were able to find the demented shooter and stop him from even more killing!"
Authorities have also released police body camera video showing the chaos of the shooting.
Police located 42 guns in Paddock's Mandalay Bay hotel room and Mesquite, Nevada home.
According to police, Paddock put a camera inside the peephole of his hotel room, as well as two cameras in the hallway outside his room.
At a press conference, the Clark County sheriff said this attack was "pre-planned extensively."
"The world has changed and who would have ever imagined this situation?” says Joe Lombardo. “I couldn't imagine it."
In Connecticut, a Torrington family is grieving after losing a loved one in the mass shooting.
According to a family friend, Kurt Von Tillow, 55, of California was at the concert with his daughter and son-in-law from Torrington.
He's still trying to come to terms with what happened.
"Hearing this news, it's unbelievable, I knew something had to touch home to Torrington,” says Robert Schiby. But, to know this, as a person, I don't want to get upset."
Vigils remembering the victims continue tonight in western Connecticut.
The Newtown Vigil Alliance says the one they've planned will be part of a nationwide effort to end gun violence.
The alliance was formed after the Sandy Hook elementary school shootings.
