Gov. Ned Lamont said Monday that the state of Connecticut is still on track to begin reopening on May 20.
He said during a press conference that the percentage people who test positive for coronavirus in the state is less than 10%, and that it's been like this the last few days.
There were 211 additional coronavirus cases in Connecticut, with 41 more virus-related deaths. Hospitalizations for COVID-19 decreased by 30.
Lamont says 5,400 people have been discharged from the hospital so far. He also says he's proud of Connecticut for doing what is needed in terms of social distancing.
Lamont says the state has gotten a shipment of remdesivir, which is the therapeutic drug being used to treat coronavirus.
He says on Tuesday, officials will provide more information on where the state is in terms of PPE and testing.
Lamont also says that Connecticut has three cases of a pediatric inflammatory syndrome linked to COVID-19. The patients are at Yale New Haven Hospital and reportedly are doing OK.
Lamont's office confirmed that hair salons will be allowed to use blow dryers when they reopen May 20 after considerable pushback from their initial ban over the fear of spreading coronavirus.

BRIEFING NOTES:
