Greenwich town officials along with Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Ukrainian leaders met virtually Monday to formalize a sister city relationship with Izyum.

A sister city, county, or state relationship is a broad-based, long-term partnership between communities and countries.

Izyum suffered signficant damage in the ongoing war but was liberated in September from Russian troops.

This is Greenwich's fourth sister city relationship. The town hopes to help in Izyum's recovery.
