Parents in Greenwich are calling for changes they want to see in the district and its curriculum, saying they are frustrated with the current curriculum and believe it’s overly sexualized and racially charged.
The group calls themselves the Greenwich Patriots.
"We don't want to see, we don't want children to see everything through a lens of race that's exactly the opposite of what we heard from Martin Luther King,” says Jackie Homan. “We want to look at people and see people for who they are, not sure what color their skin is and what's really want if you want to come back to schools should be about academics and not about your skin color."
The superintendent tells News 12 in a statement the district does not teach critical race theory, but wants students to be critical thinkers, listeners and analyze the past.
