Greenwich police say they?re ready for the summer season and any possible water hazards that may come with it thanks to some new equipment.
Greenwich police say with their new crane they can rescue victims of boat crashes a lot faster. A police officer operates the crane by remote control from the rescue boat. A board is lowered into the water. Once the victim is strapped to the board, the crane then lifts it out of the water.
Police say they can rescue a crash victim from the water in five minutes with the crane versus 20 minutes manually.
