Grief counselors are on hand at Wilton High School as the two students whose parents were wounded in a double shooting earlier this week prepare to return to class.

Police say Charles and Michelle Garcia struggled with a rifle Monday morning at their home on Grumman Avenue when it fired once, hitting them both in the face.

They say Michelle Garcia went to a neighbor's house next door, who called 911.

Charles Garcia is currently listed in critical condition at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Police say the couple's children were at school when the incident happened.

The school says it is offering counseling to friends of the two students. School officials are also meeting with the students' teachers.
