‘Howl-lday Bone-Anza’ event spotlights adoptable pets
The South Wilton Veterinary Group held its Howl-lday Bone-Anza event Sunday to get dogs and their humans ready for Christmas.
Santa was in attendance for photo opportunities, and adoptable animals were also at the event in search of forever homes.
Organizers said that they wanted to bring awareness a lot of rescue animals in the area in need of homes.
They also say that it's important to remember that a pet may not make the best holiday gift because puppies, for example, can be a lot of work and need time and energy.
"We want to make sure that everyone knows what is going on and that the dog is a right fit because if it isn't then they end up back with us or end up in a shelter, and we are trying to avoid that," says Melanie Parker, of South Wilton Veterinary Group.
