A Bridgeport resident has had enough after a broken sewage pipe filled her basement with raw sewage.
Jechiliah Robinson says she saw the sewage coming in from several different areas. It began around four weeks ago when a major utility company hired a private contractor to do some maintenance work in the area.
But she says while the private contractor was digging in the neighborhood, they broke a sewage pipe, causing raw sewage to fill her basement.
The sewage was two feet deep at one point, based on watermarks on the walls. It has since been pumped out to minimize the smell and water damage.
"I'm to the point where I am livid,” says Robinson. “I'm taking this all the way to the top because this is neglectIt's inhumane for there to be human beings inhaling sewage 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
News 12 is reaching out to the utility provider for more information.
