Rescue crews had to use the Jaws of Life to free a driver after a single-car accident on I-84 in Newtown on Wednesday.
Stony Hill firefighters and EMS arrived to find the car in the woods with the driver trapped.
They, along with state police and crews from other agencies, used the tool to cut off the roof and the doors.
The driver was taken to Danbury Hospital with serious injuries.
The car had to be lifted out of the woods.
