Police say a man was arrested after leading them on a chase that started in Bridgeport and ended in a crash in Milford.

Bridgeport police say 26-year-old Kamran Khan took off from officers on North Avenue and eventually got onto I-95 north yesterday afternoon.

Police say they initially tried to pull Khan over because they suspected he had guns in the car and knew he was wanted. Khan has an extensive criminal history and had several warrants out for his arrest, which is why they think he was running from them.

The accident also damaged the gas meters at a home on Bridgeport Avenue. The people who live there say they are not allowed back in the house until the gas meters are repaired.

Officials say Khan is due back in court next month.
