The man who police say attacked his estranged wife and set off an Amber Alert earlier this month went before a judge Thursday.
Trumbull police say U.S. Marshals found and arrested Rodolfo Revello, 43, Wednesday morning in the Bronx.
Police say Revello broke into his estranged wife's home and then took off with their 7-year-old son earlier this month.
The boy was later found safe.
In court documents, police depict how violent the incident was. The victim said Revello tried to break her jaw off before choking her. Her older son also told police that Revello threatened to kill her.
Revello is charged with kidnapping, violating a restraining order, strangulation and threatening.
The judge issued a protective order Thursday to keep Revello from contacting both victims in any context and requiring him to remain 2,500 feet from their residence.
His bond has been set at $500,000. He is due back in court on April 5.
