Men in Fairfield walked in high heels Saturday to support the fight against domestic violence and sexual assault.
The Center for Family Justice held its fourth annual "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" event. Police officers, business leaders and elected officials were among those who participated.
Organizers say they were grateful for everyone who did their part to bring awareness to a serious issue.
"I'm speechless, I'm overwhelmed and what that shows me is there's a lot of support in the community to end sexual assault and abuse against women, children and men," says Debra Greenwood, CEO of the Center for Family Justice.
Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara was the event's official chairperson.
