A Wilton woman has been reunited with her beloved dog after she says it was stolen from her front yard.
Jellybean, a 9-year-old pug, was missing for more than nine days after her family says she was taken.
Owner Logan Schneider says she was walking his other dog on June 29, and by the time she returned, Jellybean was gone.
The Schneider family took to Facebook, and more than 30 volunteers showed up to help over the next few days to help them look for the dog, most of them total strangers.
"They would come out whenever they had free time and just search the woods with us when they were available,” says Schneider.
The big break finally came Wednesday, when she got a call from a woman in Norwalk to say the pug had been found in Stamford.
The good Samaritan claimed she received Jellybean from another man who appeared to be mistreating the dog.
"We know for sure that she was taken from our property, and somehow ended up in the hands of this woman who very generously took care of this potato,” Schneider told News 12.
Schneider says it's unlikely Jellybean could have made it off the family's 5-acre lot on her own.
Wilton police say their investigation into the matter is in its preliminary stages.
