yesterdayA 15-year-old boy was stabbed this afternoon in the playground of Rebecca Turner Elementary School, Mount Vernon police say.
He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.
According to the school, the student has injuries to his back. The school is closed this week for spring break.
Police did not provide further details about the incident.
They are asking anyone with information to call the Detective Division at 914-665-2510 or text an anonymous tip by texting MVPD and the tip to 847411.
