? The opening of a digital animation studio in southwestern Connecticut is expected to bring a big boost in job availability to the area.

Blue Sky Studios opened its doors Thursday on American Lane in Greenwich and is expected to bring 300 jobs and new assets to the region.

The studio is a subsidiary of Fox Entertainment and is responsible for producing hit films such as ?Ice Age? and ?Horton Hears a Who.?

Studio executives say they decided to relocate from White Plains, N.Y. to Connecticut because it has one of the most competitive film tax credit programs in the country.

The competitive tax credit program started two years ago and has enticed several crews to shoot about 90 movies in the state.

House Speaker Jim Amann from Milford spearheaded the film tax program and says the future for digital media is bright.

?This is really where the meat is and what we wanted to do to create the foundation of a real industry in Connecticut. Digital media is the future and should be the future of Connecticut,? says Amann.
