The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says it's banning hoverboards from all of its services.
The MTA joins Amtrak in banning the self-propelled skate boards over concerns of fires caused by their batteries.
The ban comes a day after Connecticut state colleges and universities prohibited the boards from all 17 campuses.
