The
Nassau County dome was lit orange and blue Thursday in honor of the Islander’s
first game of the season.
The
team kicked off their 13-game road trip in North Carolina.
It'll
be the second-longest road trip in NHL history until they're back in Nassau at
their new home.
New
York Islanders Hockey Club says the ice was installed at the UBS Arena and is being
painted.
The group says 10,000 gallons of water were used to make one
inch of ice over the 16,300 square feet of arena surface.
