Today is the first day on the job for acting Stamford school superintendent James Connelly.

Connelly was appointed to run the Stamford schools last month while the district looks for a new superintendent.

Winifred Hamilton announced her resignation last year following criticism of her handling of a teacher sex scandal at Stamford High School.
