259ds agoWhile the statewide trend for COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations may be lower in the big picture, New Jersey took a step back on Wednesday in that regard.
The state reported 4,582 new positive COVID-19 tests, over 800 more than Tuesday. There were also 122 newly confirmed COVID-related deaths.
The rate of transmission is down to 1.08.
But hospitalizations were also up on Wednesday, with more than 3,500 COVID patients being treated in the state’s hospitals. There are 635 COVID patients in the ICU, with 432 on ventilators. Both numbers went up overnight.
Hudson County reported the most number of cases at 525 – followed by Bergen County with 518 cases.
The state has administered 421,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with 371,000 first doses and nearly 50,000 second doses.
There have been 576,720 positive COVID-19 tests in the state overall. The statewide death toll stands at 18,543.
