Newtown football will be on its toes Sunday night to see if it won an ESPY award after winning the state championship on the seven-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook tragedy.
Captain Jack Zingaro was on the field, and student Milan Chand was in the stands when they witnessed what they call more than just a play.
The team is going for another piece of hardware: the Can't-Stop-Watching Moment in the 2020 ESPY Awards.
The play was seeded 10th out of 16 Can't-Stop-Watching moments from all around the sports world, and it's the fans' votes and support that got the team and the play this far.
The ESPYs is being hosted by Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, soccer star Megan Rapinoe and WNBA Star Sue Bird.
