Students and teachers at West Rocks Middle School in Norwalk are reaching out to a sixth-grade teacher and his daughters after a car crash.
The crash on Trumbull?s Main Street occurred Saturday and claimed the life of Pat Festa?s wife. Festa and his 12-year-old daughter were injured in the accident. Police say a driver smashed into Festa?s car while he was stopped at a light. Festa?s older daughter was not in the car.
Teachers say Festa was released from the hospital Monday and has been at his younger daughter?s side ever since.
The school held special assemblies and had grief counselors on hand.
Police say the driver of the car that hit Festa also died in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
