The NYPD rolled out a new safe biking initiative this week in hopes of preventing accidents as the weather warms up.
As part of the Bicycle Safe Passage Initiative, 77 police precincts across the city are targeting drivers who put bicyclists at risk, officials say.
Police are stepping up enforcement for violations like parking in a bike lane, double parking and parking in a no standing zone.
It's related to the citywide Vision Zero plan to prevent pedestrian deaths.
Bike safety advocates say the Grand Concourse is one of the most dangerous streets in the Bronx. More than 400 cyclists were injured in 2014 in the borough alone, statistics show.
The initiative will run until Friday.
