Police say a NASCAR modified champion racer was among two people killed in a North Branford plane crash.
The racer, 59-year-old Ted Christopher, and 81-year-old pilot Charles Dundas were both killed in the crash Saturday, according to police.
Federal officials say the Mooney M20-C plane left Plainville's Robertson Airport and was heading for Long Island, where Christopher was set to compete at Riverhead Raceway.
The cause of the plane crash is under investigation.
