A male victim was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital with critical injuries after gunfire broke out just before 6 p.m. Monday in the 1400-block of Kossuth Street on the East Side of Bridgeport - in what police say was an officer-involved shooting.
The Office of the Inspector General took command of the crime scene Monday night, police said.
State lawmakers established the Office of the Inspector General in 2021 to conduct investigations involving Connecticut police officers.
Officials did not immediately release the names of the victim or the officer - nor did they provide details of the shooting.
