A group of paddle tennis players hit the courts at Fairfield's Patterson Country Club at 6 p.m. Friday, and they'll continue playing until 6 p.m. Saturday.
The annual charity fundraiser will benefit the Bridgeport Rescue Mission's annual Great Thanksgiving Project, providing complete Thanksgiving meals for thousands of people in need.
"We are so grateful for this amazing event, which has an immediate positive impact on our community," said Sarah McDonagh, of the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.
"This year's event is expected to raise $50,000. To date, it has generated more than $500,000," said Beth Peto of Fairfield.
