A pedestrian was fatally struck by a car on Church Hill Road Saturday night, authorities said.

The accident occurred near Trumbull Town Hall around 7:20 p.m. The driver, who cooperated with police, crashed into a fire hydrant after striking the pedestrian.

Police have not released the victim's identity.

Investigators are considering poor weather conditions as a possible factor in the crash.

Local and state police are conducting the investigation.
