Two Bridgeport day care workers are facing charges after allegedly leaving a child behind after a field trip in Milford.

Police in Milford say the child was left behind accidentally, but caretakers Lorene Crowell and Annie Foust still face felony charges of risk of injury to a minor.

According to police, Crowell and Foust took the kids in their care to a McDonald's Friday evening and left a 2-year-old boy behind when they went back to Bridgeport. Officers say the boy was alone for about a half hour before restaurant workers notified authorities.

Police say the day care, called Step by Step, is run out of Crowell's home on Waterman Street in Bridgeport.
