Police are searching for the person who fatally shot a man on Stillwater Avenue in Stamford Wednesday night.

Police have identified the victim as Denny Alcantara, a 22-year-old Stamford resident. They say he died at Stamford Hospital after being shot twice in the torso.

Police are still trying to determine how many people were involved in the shooting and whether they were on foot or in a car.

On Thursday, Stamford police scoured a section of I-95 in Westport with the help of the state police after learning some evidence may be in the area. Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to call police at 203-977-4417.
