Stamford police say they're looking for the man who punched a woman because she's gay.
Police say the man tried to strike up a conversation with the woman as she walked along Spring Street with a group of friends early Saturday morning.
They say when the woman told the man she wasn't interested in men, he yelled out a disparaging comment about lesbians and knocked the woman to the ground with a punch.

Police say they're investigating this case as a hate crime.
