UPDATE: The charges against Nasir Hilliard have been dropped. Original story below.
Norwalk police are asking for the public's help to find the person responsible for stabbing a man Tuesday afternoon.
Officers responded to calls of a fight between several young men near South Main and Grove streets. They say one person was stabbed during the altercation. The 22-year-old was taken to Norwalk Hospital and is in serious condition.
Police say they arrested Xavior Baez, Calvin Hilliard and Nasir Hilliard at the scene for breach of peace, but none were charged with the stabbing. The three are expected to appear in court next week.
South Main Street was shut down for about two hours as police investigated. Schoolchildren dropped off by the bus had to be escorted through the scene so they could return home.
News 12 Connecticut is told that police have not made any arrests in connection with the actual stabbing.
